Send money to Colombia from Chile

The delivery time depends on the payment and delivery methods. Card-funded transfers and mobile wallet transfers (Nequi, DaviPlata) often arrive within minutes. Bank transfers to Colombian accounts typically take 3–5 business days. Times may also vary due to local business hours, holidays, and security checks.

Costs depend on several factors, including the payment method, delivery option, transfer amount, and the CLP-to-COP exchange rate at the time of transfer. Bank transfers are usually the most cost-effective; card-funded transfers are faster but may include higher fees. Ria works with partners to keep fees low and offer competitive exchange rates.

Ria’s Track a Transfer tool provides real-time updates. Enter the unique transaction PIN to see its status. Tracking is available on the Ria website and mobile app. Senders receive email/app notifications when funds are deposited, credited to a wallet, or ready for pickup. 

The best option depends on the sender’s priorities: 
• Fast: Card payments or transfers to Nequi/DaviPlata wallets (typically in minutes)
• Lower fees: Bank transfer (usually 3–5 business days)
• Convenient: Cash pickup at major banks or retail partners

Electronic transfers are often the most secure method to send money from Chile to Colombia. They avoid carrying cash and provide layered protections such as encryption, identity verification, optional two-factor authentication, and real-time tracking. Senders should confirm recipient name/ID details, keep the PIN private, and use trusted networks.

You will need:

• Recipient’s full legal name (matching ID)
• Recipient’s bank or wallet details (Nequi or DaviPlata)
• Their city and department in Colombia
• Transfer amount in COP
• Your payment information (card, bank, or local method)

Recipients can receive funds via cash pickup at partner locations like Bancolombia, Davivienda, Banco de Bogotá, Banco W, Éxito, Carulla, and Super Inter; by bank deposit to major Colombian banks; or by mobile wallet with Nequi or DaviPlata.

Senders in Chile can use bank transfers, debit or credit cards, and local payment services like Fintoc and Sencillito through the Ria app, website, or partner locations.

Provide the recipient’s full legal name, the bank name (e.g., Bancolombia, Davivienda, Banco de Bogotá), and the recipient’s account number or IBAN. Ria will process and deposit the funds securely into the recipient’s Colombian account.
